IIT JEE OMR Sheet 2009 Pattern

IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) is one of the most prestigious institutes of the country. This is also the reason why getting an admission in the institute is no mean feat. You have to clear the entrance examination as well as personal interview round to secure a seat in this famous institute. The entrance exam for IIT uses OMR sheets, which contains bubbles as answer options. Addmen, which is the leading OMR manufacturer in India, has been designing the OMR sheets for IIT JEE since 2006.

IIT JEE uses a complex exam pattern, and Addmen's OMR software has the capability to both design and read such bubble patterns. Here we present the IIT JEE OMR sheet 2009 pattern. Let us take a look at its features.

OMR answer sheet format of IIT 2009

The IIT JEE of 2009 is divided into two papers, which are called Paper-I and Paper-II. The upper part of both the sheets is the same. Space for collecting the candidate's information is provided in this section. You will find place where you have to both write and fill (in OMR format) your roll no. and test ID. There is also place for filling the name, batch, mobile no. and test date. This is followed by place for the signatures of the candidate and the invigilator. Next to it is the instructions for filling the sheet.

After this section begins the actual answer paper that has bubbles in the form of answer options. Although both paper-I and paper-II look the same, there are some differences in the patterns of both these IIT OMR sheets.

  • Paper-I has 60 questions in total while Paper-II possesses 57 questions.
  • Paper-I and Paper-II has MCQ based questions; questions that have four options (ABCD). Students would be asked to mark either one or two options for these questions.
  • Both the papers also have matrix type questions which are used when there are sub sections within one question.
  • Paper-II also possesses integer type of blocks where every column has 10 rows of digits from 1-0. This type of OMR pattern is used when the final answer is in the numerical form.

It is possible to download the 2009 IIT OMR sheets from here. You can practice on these sheets and get used to the pattern before appearing for the actual examination.
